They say that the Ringtone Market has turned into a very large money maker for media companies, some ringtones now can not be permanently kept and you have to rent them, which in my opinion is purely nuts. We have all heard cool ring tones and even grimaced when we heard some that we did not care for. For a very long time I had a ring tone that played the Mission Impossible theme song and while I enjoyed it people grew tired of it. I have wondered for a long tune why more people did not make there own.
Well there is a great product out there that makes creating a ring tone as simple as loading an application, selecting, and mashing up some music segments and exporting the finished product. The process the MAGIX Ringtone maker provided was beyond simple. I took the intro to the Geek News Central Podcast, and mashed it up with some other clips we have used in the past, and was able to create a ringtone in about 5 minutes. Now I am no mashup artist but this is the perfect application for someone that is looking to make some creative ringtones that no one else has.
MAGIX Ringtone Maker 2 which retails for $29.00 allows you to mix four tracks, and allows you to adjust the volume on each track and set independent equalizer, echo, reverb and a host of other audio track functions. Once you have the tracks mashed up you select Simulate Ringtone and you will hear what the final product is going to sound like. Then you export in one of 5 different formats dependent on your phone.
The software allows you to do video as well but I did not work with any of the video options. Here is a list of some of the new features.
* Video ringtones
* Polyphonic ringtones
* Wallpaper & logo support
* Title Editor
* Effects
* MAGIX Remix Agent 2.0
* Updated list of compatible mobile phones
* New import and export formats: BMP, JPG, Real, WMV, MIDI, and much more
Getting the newly created content is easy as well, I simply sent the file via e-mail. You can also use Bluetooth, IRDA to transfer to your phone. Very simple, and now when my phone rings everyone gets to hear my mashed up version of the Geek News Central Podcast Ringtone best thing is it’s free and I can share it. There is a list of phones on the MAGIX website that the software is compatible with. [MAGIX]
