I am quite shocked over the response my Apple Store article received. With 67 comments so far and 615,000 hits to that article alone in just over 24 hours that article hit a nerve in more ways than one. It is nice to see their is a lot of passion out their for the Apple product line. You can be sure as my retailing experience to buy a G5, will continue to be documented here. It is sure to be anti-climatic as I am going to take the readers advice and just order it online and save some money and forget the personal experience.

Ok when you go to any store to purchase an item, you should be treated properly… lol you are the one who is paying them their salary. But from the replys posted.. its painfuly obvious to me… how right on his original article was. Its obvious they have an additude… most of the replys showed this clearly enough. So dude screw these negative posters they’re ignorant.
Every time I’ve wandered into an Apple store in the US I’ve gotten said “attitude” about being a Windows user.
Y’know those wireless hotspots they provide at Apple stores for people to go and check their mail and stuff? I was allowed to use my VAIO at the store in Boston to check my mail but anywhere else I’ve been I’ve been told that “this wireless AIRPORT spot is reserved for APPLE users only”. Nice promotion of their product, right?
What is the lesson learned? To me, it sounds like:
“Buy from the online source to avoid dealing with sales people and avoid supporting the local sales establishments as well as avoid paying sales tax.”
The store is supposed to represent an extention of the main product/corporation… is it not? If Apple (or any other company) can not establish an effective selling experince for their customers, then it’s to the company’s detriment.
The store staff SHOULD be aware that you as a customer have many options when buying product and that they should be jumping with joy that a person choses to spend their time and money with them.
FWIW – I’ve walked into the Apple store here in Houston and had great experiences with asking questions and interacting with the sales people. Even though I didn’t buy anything, I walked out with a positive experience.
