MICROSOFT NEEDS TO PUT PODCASTING IN WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 10 FOR XP AND VISTA IMMEDIATELY

Excerpts From Paul Colligans Webiste!

But now, let’s get back to this important subject:

MICROSOFT NEEDS TO PUT PODCASTING IN WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER 10 FOR XP AND VISTA IMMEDIATELY.

MICROSOFT NEEDS TO RELEASE THE ZUNE PODCATCHING FIRMWARE THEY’RE PLAYING WITH.

Microsoft needs to serve their customer on this one – the same thing they’re trying hard to do with IE7.

p.s., Anyone else like the BuyBillAnIpod.com idea? I did get my first dollar for the cause as a result of that interview.

Podfeed.net Re-Launches

The once bland Podcast directory Podfeed.net has re-launched and is looking pretty good. The only thing I really do not care for is that they are using the FeedBurner Top 100 Podcast list which is really a shame, because it so mis-represents the majority of popular podcaster that do not to use FeedBurner, and or have the awareness API turned off. I did notice in their aggregated data that they are not parsing the entries correctly but other than that this site is going to start giving the other directories a good run for their money. [PodFeed.net]

Update: I was asked to explain what they were not parsing correctly. Here is an example of aggregated data that is formatted correctly it just takes time to make sure the code you develop is parses it well. Here is the same info parsed on podfeed.net. If you will notice they also do not honor or import the site graphic that is embedded in the RSS. All they need is a little bit of work cleaning up the code and this part of the site will look good.

Sprint getting in the Podcast Game

Seems Sprint is going to be creating a series of commercial oriented podcast surrounding user experiences with their EVDO service. Nice to see them in the space but it would have been cool if they would have reached out to Podcasters that are using their EVDO service to podcast about it.

Since having my EVDO card and being on the service it is definitely considerably faster than dial up but not quite broadband. So hey sprint I have a team of tech podcasters that probably could get you about 1.2 million listener listens each month [Sprint]
