Consumer Electronics Show a new Guy Perspective!

Words cannot describe how big this thing is. One thing we have learned, the bigger the booth the harder it is to get to talk to someone that can make a comment. When you are talking to someone in the booth the PR people really watch you like a hawk to make sure you are not recording.

Small companies with cool products are very happy to talk to you. I will say this those in the smaller booths are happy to get the press coverage. One booth I stopped at today who had won a innovation award had not seen a single reporter. I have kept my eyes on the badges and can say that I have not seen that many reporters on the floor.

But I suppose I should not be surprised because so many of the companies wont let you talk to people in an official way that count anyway. I had at least 20 off the record conversations that would have made for valuable reading. One gentleman told me that his pitch speech had been thru at least 30 changes and he had practiced giving that pitch speech for 3 months.

I have actually discarded several product interviews because the robot at the end of the mic did not want to have a conversation.
