DVD Piracy booming MPAA loosing the battle

Seems the MPAA’s war on DVD Piracy is being lost. The MPAA is saying that they have found over 150,000 movie pirate sites in the last year. The quality of video has increased to the point that unless the DVD video is analyzed it is almost impossible to tell the difference in quality.

Competition is fierce among the groups that are pirating DVD’s to see who can releases new movies first. It is only going to get worse as technology moves ahead. [LA Times]

  1. Did anyone see southpark- Downloading mp3’s for free? If people didnt download free mp3s the son of this artist could have his own private island, but know because of people downloading music for free he is going to have to wait for next year’s birthday! It’s lame… but how true! (i saw the episode on a pirate DVD, lol)

  2. Its all right the DVD manufacturers bemoaning the fact about piracy running amok, it seems to me that the pirates are selling their copies at the price that the official DVD’S should be sold at, instead of the rip-off prices they are currently sold at by the retailers.
