Legacy BBS Systems

I have several systems that I maintain that I call my legacy systems what is funny though they really are not legacy as 3 servers we have are running Windows NT. People ask me all the time why I don’t upgrade them. I kinda laugh and say hey if it isn’t broke well you know.

I don’t run IIS on them as we run a unique server called Wildcat on them which host my BBS system. Before the Internet people dialed into local BBS systems and most computer geeks remember the good times people had on those BBS. There are very few dial-up BBS systems left but there are quite a few on the net still hammering away. A true BBS is much different than a web based forum system. But anyway I have spent a couple of evenings in front of the terminal working on the system updating conferences and cleaning up some things that needed housekeeping.
