Is Apple Spying on your iPhone Usage?

While I am sure other mobile carriers spy on your mobile phone usage, it does come as a bit of a shocker to see code snippet that may call home to Apple embedded in a iPhone application.

Cisco needs to spend on something

Cisco has turned around the slide in the stockmarket with an announcement that they are buying back $10Bn worth of stock.  Investors are obviously happy given that this has driven the companies stock up, and other tech stocks have risen on the news.  This is just in a way considering that a poor earnings report from Cisco is a major factor in the Nasdaq getting the jitters over the last few weeks.

Shuttle Launch

If you are a fan of the space shuttle, photography, space or any combination you will enjoy this arial shot of a space shuttle launch.  It’s not a new photo being of a Columbia launch in 1981, but a fantastic shot.

A virtual smack in the head

GNC reader and blogger Karoli posted a comment to my PayPerPost article, and expanded on her blog, justifiably calling me to task on how I expressed myself in the article.  I made repeated reference to PayPerPost in the article using a noun as a verb.  My intent was to discuss the larger impact of undisclosed advertising in blog posts and used PayPerPost as a euphemism for that (which given the second paragraph of my post is quite ironic).  Doing so detracted from the clarity of the message I was trying to give and also unfairly degraded a companies trademark.  As Karoli put it

TechCrunch RSS Advertising is the Worst

Tonight while getting ready for my Podcast I removed a RSS feed from my regular reading list because of excessive advertising in the feed. I'm serious -- the stupid ad TechCrunch has after every article in the feed measures 612 pixels in height.
