The discussions about PPP over the past weeks have me thinking about how Bloggers can turn their effort into reward. The difficulty that smaller bloggers have in monetising their blogs is no secret, and while there is no reason that any blogger should be able to make money from their content it would be better if there was some link between quality of content and reward.

Many of you that listen to my show know that I have been planning a move into a new home. That move started a week ago Monday and we finally had all 19,000 pounds of furniture and household goods in the house and 4pm the day before Thanksgiving.
Readers of GNC are well aware of the general feelings towards the pay for post business model. While Izea has recognised that undeclared ads are not a good idea, the business model still seems to me to be at the ‘mass mailing’ end of the marketing spectrum. If a company knows who they want to advertise with they can approach them directly. If they don’t Izea can help them get to someone, but it is sloppy marketing.

Over the past week the site at TinyURL.com has been down several times, and when you need to shorten a URL to post via IM or Twitter, it is not good for a service that you have learned to trust to become unreliable.
As we are now in the middle of our move to our new home I was hoping to find some alternative high speed options. Currently I have Cable Broadband as provided by Oceanic Cable which is part of Time Warner. I also have a ClearWire connection and hopefully the coverage maps are correct as I am not a 100% positive that it will work in our new home.
