Podcasting Catcher Software a work in progress.

I switched from iPodder to jPodder this last week due to having issues with iPodder not inserting Podcast into my media player. But the issue I am having with all of these podcasting catcher programs is that they are not smart enough to clean-up after themselves. So I have 2 month old content and no way to really clean those

Geek News Central Podcast #17 12-9-04

Recorded this after midnight my time so hopefully I don't sound totally out of it. From here on out I will be releasing the show on Tuesday and Friday. Along with that we are adding some file formats (WMA and OGG) I hope to have those up tonight and available for download. Check the side link for the new file

Just how bad is Spyware in the Corporate World?

Imagine your go into work today and find the IT people at your desk looking over your PC.. They look at you with pity and ask you to see your boss immediately. You walk into your bosses office and security is their. In short you have been fired. When you ask why it is explained to you that the software

Is a new net economy possible with Podcast?

My initial thought is yes. Based on my own listener numbers if I could get every subscriber to donate .75 cents to $1.00 per month this would motivate me to do a daily show, and if my listnership tripled and they all donated I could replace my day job. That obviously is easier said then done, you all have families

iriver IFP-790

I picked up a iriver IFP-790 to use as a backup when recording my shows. I had a heck of a time getting the levels correct but it looks like a fairly nice device. Now I am assured I will have a backup in case the PC software quits on me. [www.iriver.com]

I had a knock out day

More news when I get out of bed in the morning to tired to continue tonight.

Is Spyware on your computer ok?

If you answered that question "yes" then just stand up and grab a baseball bat and hit yourself in the head several times, and say after me "I'm Dumb, I'm a Idiot, and I will listen to what this Geek has to say". Spyware is Evil, Spyware is invasive, Spyware will make my $399.00 to $5000.00 dollar computer that used to

Is the PC under your desk headed for extinction?

If you read the linked story, some people think we are already in the Post PC era. Personally I beg to differ, sure PC's are going to change some but people will still need a separate computer away from the kids to do research and all of the normal things we all do on our computers. I can't see working

Forget a brainstorm I had Microsoft charging $200,000 for one years NT4 Support

The brainstorm I had was to form a bogus company then raise enough money via donations to pay for 1 more year of NT4 Server support that Microsoft was offering to corporations. I figured we would just give away all the patches that they released to those that donated or so we thought. Well Microsoft announces today that to get

Podcast Research

The editor over at PodcastResearch will be taking a look at our Podcast along with 9 others, doing some research on who and what we are all doing. I will be very curious to read his notes as he listens to the shows being produced. [podcast.isthereason.com]

Smarter Traffic Lights!

How many times have you been sitting in traffic cussing out a traffic light that changed, with no other cars in the other intersection. It happens here in Hawaii "ALL THE TIME". These idiot traffic engineers here have not a clue what a timed traffic light is. When I lived in Guam I loved driving at night because all you
