At least one reader to this website is going to smile over this article. I apologize to the other thousands of readers but Steve when you read this you will know I’m thinking about ya. :)
Seems the letter that the RIAA sent out in October to Universities throughout the United States has some US Naval Academy Midshipmen in deep water.
Seems while the Midi’s were at class the administration rounded up about a 100 computers which contained MP3’s. Now I am no genius here but the ramifications of this could be huge. I can see the headlines now. “Midshipmen expelled because they listened to Music”. With the byline that the US Navy will know be short approx 100 Officers for there love of music.
The RIAA probably forced the US Naval Academy administration into a corner due to the strict Code of Honor that every midshipmen has to uphold. This action makes me wonder if the entire Armed Forces will be next. By having all DOD computers searched to insure that there are no MP3’s on them. Somehow if the evil empire of the RIAA has there way this will probably be the case.
