Seems the RIAA was not real happy with the Register story that describes the confiscation of over a 100 midshipman's computers. They seem to think the Register twisted the story. But if you think about it they may have made it a more interesting read by putting a twist on it but the actions of the RIAA did indeed have
This pisses me off more than anything. You know I and 10's of thousands others pay nearly $50.00 a month for a broadband Internet connection. I am definitely a Power User but I do not make it a practice to go download MP3's every day. I have no idea how much bandwidth I utilize but it probably is 2-3 gigs
I belonged to a organization in the past that supported my views in Washington this organization was aligned with Internet Service Providers. Being I am no longer on the front-lines of that effort I let my membership lapse. In one of my daily newsletters I read a article from ZDNet.Com caught my eye. The opening comment was of enough impact

I get all excited when the space shuttle launches as the local Public Access channel brings us Nasa TV so I usually get a tape ready and have it cocked an loaded so when they point the camera towards earth I can hit the old record button. I just wish my local cable operator has Tech TV then I would
I think this story is in the running for the Darwin award this year as the fallout is not yet fully being felt but it seems Microsoft had a large number of documents including customer e-mail address and internal company documents on a unsecured FTP Server. Many of the documents have been posted over at www.securityoffice.net which is off-line this
I understand the need for the US Govt to protect this great nation but I get the shivers when I think of the Government monitoring my every credit-card purchase. We are a free Nation and as a free Nation protected by a bill or rights and a constitution which we automatically receive upon being born in the great country or
