Privacy and the Homeland Security Act

I understand the need for the US Govt to protect this great nation but I get the shivers when I think of the Government monitoring my every credit-card purchase.

We are a free Nation and as a free Nation protected by a bill or rights and a constitution which we automatically receive upon being born in the great country or being naturalized.

I most definitely want the federal state and local authorities to have the tools to capture arrest and prosecute terrorist. But I am also not willing to have Uncle Sam scrutinizing my purchases. That’s my business and my families business. I am sure we would all love to snoop around and see what our neighbors are buying but that is the crux of the problem what we all would like to do and what is morally acceptable is 2 different things. Thus the paradox the people running these computers could abuse the power given them.

We need to go slow and have solid legislation and public over-site of what is being done with this information. There will be a need to be public/govt cooperation in order to alleviate average Americans concerns.

Protect the Bill of Rights.
