Here at GNC we've always been fans of Cloud Engines' Pogoplug and at CES, they've unveiled the latest version, the Pogoplug Video, which adds video streaming to your personal cloud. If you aren't familiar with the Pogoplug, it's a small gadget which you put on your network connected into your router. You then plug in a USB harddrive (or two)
Microsoft has released a teaser video one day ahead of Steve Ballmer's keynote address. Of course they are hoping to get everyone hyped for their big announcements, but I am not sure they quite hit the mark with this one. It's a bit strange, but kinda cool in a way. There are no hints in it unless they are so
This is my unboxing and initial setup of the Roku XD|S. I do apologize for the shaky video, I was recording this on my Iphone. I also realized after I had finished uploading the video that I said there was an ethernet connection at the end of the box and I meant to say HDMI connection. So here is the video
1. The shows I want are not available on the Iphone or Ipad 2. Shows expire 3. The commercials 4. Its still not available on the TiVo 5. It is blocking Google TV and Boxee Once I decided to try Hulu Plus I started to look around at shows that I wanted to watch. The first thing I noticed was that more then half were not available on the Iphone, which is where I watch a lot of my videos, so that is strike one. Strike two was the fact that shows that I wanted to watch like Fringe expire and become unavailable. I went back to catch up with Fringe and the shows from earlier this season had expired and were not available. I don't understand the point of expiring videos, especially those from the current season. Strike three are the commercials. I have no problem with commercials in the free version I realize companies have to make money to survive. However if I am paying a subscription I don't want to see commercials. I would prefer to be given a choice to pay more and see no commercials or pay minimum and get commercials. It is still not available for the TiVo and if its anything like the wait for Pandora, it will be awhile before it will be. I don't have either the Boxee Box and or Google TV, but the fact that Hulu is blocking both of them is just dumb. If I connect my mac mini to my TV I can watch Hulu Plus, but if I connect my Google TV I can't, how this makes sense I don't know. Finally, and this a purely a personal thing there are not enough anime shows available.
Sony launched the new Bloggie Touch today here in the UK and it looks like quite a slick little gadget that will find its way under the Christmas tree this year. Combining a full HD video camera and a 12 MP still camera, it actually looks more like mobile phone than a video camera, with a 3" touchscreen on one
Sony have launched a series of high performance HDMI cables to meet the needs of the latest developments in audio and video entertainment, including 3D and Ethernet. All the cables in the DLC-HE series offer: - HDMI Ethernet Channel (HEC), allowing the cable to not only carry audio and video, but also data. - Audio Return Channel (ARC), permitting audio
We’ve been hearing quite a lot about Internet-delivered video content lately. Trends sometimes seem to advance slowly over a long period of time but then tumultuous market shifts seem to happen overnight. Blockbuster just filed for bankruptcy. Blockbuster was unable to reconfigure their business structure to compete effectively with Netflix. It seems that Netflix has won the ongoing war. Streaming
