Apple vs Hacker in OS X PC Showdown

The battle and speculation about the take down notices Apple has been serving to various websites is going to get ugly before it gets better, apparently the hacker who has learned a lot more than Apple wants him to about OS X running on Windows based PC has started a blog. The MacNN site did not post the link to the Hackers Blog but the race is on to have OS X running functionally on computers that run windows today. As I have discussed in a earlier posting that if this happens Apple potentially could loose millions of dollars.

This will shape up to ultimately being a huge legal battle, but OS X will at some point be functioning on a Windows based PC.

But I can’t wait to walk into a Apple store and boot my HP Pavilion up for everyone to see running OS X! [MacNN]

So you want to run OSX on the Intel Based PC on your Desk?

That’s right my geek friends have a spare computer laying around and I think you could have yourself a weekend of fun loading Apple OSX (Developers Edition) on your Intel based PC that you have stored in a closet. May be a bit buggy but it sure will be a lot of fun to show it off to the geek next door who just purchased a dual processor G5. [Extreme Tech]

Rub it in a little and install the build on a high end Pentium 4 that you got for $500.00

Convergence of Windows and Apple continue

As I know have been using my Mac off and on for about a 9 months while still living in a Windows world most of the time I can say that the thing that annoys me the most is the lack of toolbars on the applications I find myself getting irritated that the menus are not on the applications top bar. It really is annoying call it a personal pet peeve. Now it appears Windows may be trying to clean up the menu bar and I almost shouted no at the desktop. But if this trend continues and as each vendor copies each others ideas we will continue to see the operating systems converge.

Up to this point the only thing that I can honestly say that OSX does better than windows is their install process. When I remove installed applications I know they are gone. Windows has gotten better over the years but I still find too many applications leaving files and entries behind. Other than that productivity and ease of use is equal. I have yet to run an application on my Mac that was any better or worse than any I have running on my Windows box.

Oh the Apple is definitely more pretty but hey its a computer not a fashion statement. [PCWorld]
