For 2026 Pantone has announced Cloud Dancer as the Color of the Year. Officially PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer, the colour is “a lofty white that serves as a symbol of calming influence in a society rediscovering the value of quiet reflection.”
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute, explains, “At this time of transformation, when we are reimagining our future and our place in the world, PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer is a discrete white hue offering a promise of clarity. The cacophony that surrounds us has become overwhelming, making it harder to hear the voices of our inner selves. A conscious statement of simplification, Cloud Dancer enhances our focus, providing release from the distraction of external influences.”
This year’s Cloud Dancer follows on from last year’s Mocha Mousse and for the full story on this year’s color choice, there’s a comprehensive Pantone feature on the Color of the Year. Laurie Pressman, Vice President of the Pantone Color Institute added, “PANTONE 11-4201 Cloud Dancer is an airy white hue that exemplifies our search for balance between our digital future and our primal need for human connection—a liminal space that is a launchpad for creative expression—as individuals and communities are experimenting beyond traditional boundaries, opening the door to increased imagination and innovation.”
As with previous years, Pantone has worked with other partners to transform Cloud Dancer into more than just colours. Continuing the existing relationship, Motorola has introduced a special edition motorola edge 70 with crystals by Swarovski embedded into the design. The phone is coming soon but you can be notified when it’s ready. In addition to this year’s Color of the Year, there are other less flashy Pantone color choices for the phones such as Gadget Gray and Lily Pad.
This year, there is a collaboration with Play-Doh bringing creative play in the shape of modelling compound with the on-trend colour. Now your kids can show how hip they are in nursery.
For the digital playground, there are plenty of Cloud Dancer wallpapers to download, along with previous year’s editions such as Viva Magenta. Stay bang on trend in your next online meeting.
