OnePlus Goes To Hollywood

OnePlus LogoWith only a few hours to go before OnePlus’ biggest launch event, Cloud 11, there’s been plenty of teasing in advance of the big event on Tuesday. Here’s a quick recap of what can be expected later on at 1400 GMT.

Top billing goes to the OnePlus 11 5G smartphone but as it’s been already launched in China, there aren’t going to be to many surprises. Coming in Eternal Green and Titan Black, there are two variations in spec, 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB. There maybe a 512GB version but it’s not showing on OnePlus website yet. The phone will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and the screen is a 6.7″ 1440p OLED curved display and a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. There’s a triple camera array with a 50MP main sensor, a 48MP ultra-wide and a 32M 2x zoom arranged in circular disc on the back with the flash. All Sony sensors with Hasselblad branding. There’s a 16MP selfie cam on the front.

Moving onto the OnePlus Buds Pro 2, these will be one of the first truly wireless headphones to support Android 13’s spatial audio which can fix audio sources in space meaning they don’t move when your head does. OnePlus has engaged with Hollywood composer, Hans Zimmer, to tune the Master Equalizer (EQ) for the Buds Pro 2. To really show off the audiophile credentials of the Buds Pro 2s, he’s rearranged “Lost But Won” soundtrack to demonstrate the spatial audio at it’s very best.

OnePlus has been teasing the OnePlus Pad without revealing too much other than the somewhat uniquely positioned camera. There’s not much more to go on, but I think plenty of people will be looking forward to an Android tablet that’s not a Samsung device, especially if it provides a flagship-killer experience at a lower cost.

And finally, it’s expected that the new OnePlus keyboard will receive an official unveiling. Not too much has been given away but it will be both Apple and Windows compatible. There has is a short video with exploding renders and it could be a modernist icon but I think everyone is wondering about the glassy knob on the top right.

Of course, the one big unknown for all of these products is the price and for that, we’ll just have to wait a few more hours.

The Cloud 11 event will be livestreamed here.
