It has been announced that Unravel will be released on February 9, 2016. You can preorder it on PS4 or Xbox One. A new trailer for Unravel has been

Pandora Launches Thumbprint Radio

Papago GoSafe 520 Review

Over the past month I have had a Papago GoSafe 520 in my car recording the driving environment. In that time there where two close calls with cars cutting me off and one driver that had road rage against another driver, recording everything that was happening while I was on the move. The road rage video was turned over to

GNC #1084 Register those Drones

According to the FAA those of us that fly drones are all Aviators I take a little offense to that as being and actual Aviator takes a lot of hard work and skill.. Its not to hard to fly an almost autonomous drone. So it was bit tongue in cheek when they announced the mandatory registration of millions of toy

Surface Pro 3 Update

It’s been going on about three months since buying a Surface Pro 3 tablet with a 256 gigabyte SSD, an I-5 processor, and Windows 10 preinstalled, so I figure it’s time for a bit of an update. Since getting the device, there has been one major Windows 10 update, along with countless small spyware and virus updates for Windows Defender,

Pantone Color of the Year 2016

Pantone has announced its Color of the Year for 2016 and for the first time ever, the chosen color is a blend of two, Rose Quartz and Serenity. "Why two?" you might reasonably ask.... Pantone says, "As consumers seek mindfulness and well-being as an antidote to modern day stresses, welcoming colors that psychologically fulfil our yearning for reassurance and security

Ancestry.com to shutter Family Tree Maker, alternatives make themselves known

Genealogy is a popular hobby and these days it's also big business, as companies such as Ancestry.com have proven. The site also issues the very popular Family Tree Maker software program that many use to track their history. Unfortunately the company apparently doesn't see the benefit in continuing to issue and support its program and it will cease selling it on

Roku 2 Media Streamer (2015) Review

Media streamers are hugely in vogue at the moment with products from Roku, Apple, Google and Amazon, and good a few of these are going to appear under the Christmas tree in a few day's time. Although hard numbers are difficult to come back, it's generally thought that the market leader by a good way is Roku, with Google, Apple and

YouTube set to carry the Nobel Prize show with Jay Leno, a-ha and more

There are few events that are bigger and more important than the Nobel Prize awards ceremony. This gives credit to those who do the most important work -- the research on diseases, figuring out a complicated economy, helping the world's neediest people, working for peace and much more. The extravaganza gets under way with a big show and this year

GNC #1083 Apple’s Battle with the Networks

I take some time tonight to talk about the Ohana and how the Geek News Central experience is Ohana centric down to our writing team. I also talk about Apple's Battle with the Networks and how it did not go the same way as the Audio negotiations but that over time Apple will win the battle as Cord Cutters excelerate.

Booq Cobra Laptop Briefcase Review

On review here is the Booq Cobra Laptop Briefcase, a lightweight and high-spec laptop bag. Unlike some of the other Booq bags that I've reviewed here for GNC, it's in the more traditional style for those circumstances where a rucksack looks a little bit too casual. Designed for laptops with screens up to 16", it's made with ballistic nylon complimented by lower leather trim, meaning it looks good but is durable too. As you'll see from the pictures, the YKK zips are mostly on show in bright steel, though the main laptop compartment has a covered waterproof zip.
