My initial thoughts on what was announced at WWDC. First the good, the new Macbook Pro with retina display was definitely the highlight of the show. The display has over 5 million pixels on the 15.4 inch display with a resolution of 2880x1800 resolution. The Macbook Pro with the retina display weights only 4.46 lb. and is 0.71 inches thin.
Last weekend, I upgraded my NAS from 2 TB to 4 TB and it was all too easy. The NAS is a Buffalo LinkStation Duo but as the drives are mirrored, I only get half the total 2 TB capacity, i.e. 1 TB. I was getting pretty close to having the full terabyte of data on the unit, so I decided
I recently celebrated a birthday and received some new podcasting gear as a gift. What better place to geek-out over the new gear than here? I'm very excited about it! Before I get too far into this, I should back up a bit. I started podcasting with my husband in 2005. In 2007, I decided that it was time for

The "smart" Lego brick will integrated with a smartphone or tablet to relay their exact configuration. The blocks have a small chip inserted within each brick that will communicate with both android
In the past several months as I have been re-working my recording studio I have had the need to utilize some 1x4 HDMI Splitters to replicate HDMI distribution from computers to DVD players. The Accell Ultra Mini 1x4 HDMI A/V Splitter works great especially when you have space constraints. The small footprint of the splitter is significantly smaller than similar
The term "Smartbook" has been kicking around the tech industry for some time now, but has never really taken a hold. That probably won't change, but one company, THD, is taking another crack at it. Sure, it's not likely to catch on, but it won't be because they haven't put together a beautiful peice of hardware. Unveiled at the recent
It has become very clear that Microsoft does not care about supporting podcasting, and the 10's of thousands of podcasters that are reaching 10's of millions of listeners / viewers each month. In the past week we have been pulling some incredible stats from our podcast statistic system at RawVoice, and I want to share a couple of the slides
My father is in China at the moment and he's on the high speed train between Shanghai and Hangzhou. Here's the train at the station in Shanghai. The speed is very impressive... 302 km/h or 188 mph. That's pretty quick.
At TEDxBelfast last night I was inspired by the stories of individuals who passionately believed in an idea and then made that idea a reality. From working with autistic children to building a new arts centre, these people all made a difference. Presented in Titanic Belfast in front of the replica of the famous staircase, it was an unforgettable evening. As with
