The latest Boxee update brings back support for Hulu feeds, something that was lost a couple weeks ago. Todd has talked highly of the Boxee, and to be honest, I’ve been giving it a pretty close look myself. When the support for Hulu was lost, I stopped looking. My kids and I find a ton of things to watch on Hulu, and it has at times supplanted what we have saved on our DVR. We’ve been watching most things through my Apple 22″ cinema display when it comes to Hulu, which is big enough for us to gather around and enjoy, but is not like flopping on the couch to watch it on the television. Having that link between the two would be great.
In addition to the returned support for Hulu, a new “app store” has been added and there is also an auto-downloading function.
Boxee states clearly that the upgrade has not been deeply tested, and that it can’t guarantee the results, but so far, geeks using it seem thrilled with the changes and have reported few problems. The upgrade should be available at app.boxee.tv.
