In the past week I did some compiling of data on the number of views the video coverage that Andy McCaskey and I did at the Consumer Electronics Show.
These statistics are for the 5 sponsored video spots that were sponsored by Hitachi. The 5 spots garnered more than 360,000 total views with our blooper reel having the most number of down loads.
Spot 1, 2, 3, 4, Blooper Reel
It should be noted that those 5 spots was only a fraction of the coverage that we provided at CES I am quite confident that the 50+ Video Interviews and Demos I have been posted so far will allow me to come back and announce a grand total of 2.5 to 3 Million impressions. The remaining videos I have to publish yet will only cause that number to rise higher.
Andy and I had a goal this year to hit about 750,000 views on all of the content we created. To say that I am pleased with the total number of views is the understatement of the year.
Here is the thing to keep in mind we had a volunteer cameraman from my team at RawVoice and Andy and I humped all of our own gear and had no other support staff. I did all of the editing of the video content. Based on current numbers each of the interviews we posted will get no less than 40,000 impressions each. With each of those impression reaching a highly targeted technical demographic.
Lessons for companies going to CES next year pay attention to the new media coverage as much as you do the mainstream press.
Check back here in a couple weeks when I break down the coverage results even farther.
I have a special RSS feed for the video coverage here
