    Todd,

Broadband competition is a joke in lots of places. For example myself I live in rural Georgia. I am fortunate to live about 700yds from an RT (remote terminal) and they upgraded it last year to allow for DSL. Cable isn’t available in my area. So thats it. Whats worse is because the RT is a new upgrade nobody else can sell me DSL out of that cabinet, so for example Earthlink who resells DSL over BellSouth copper cant sell me service because that RT isn’t covered by their current contracts. If you check for broadband providers in my area several are listed but just because they are listed doesn’t mean they can get you service where others can. So I have one choice for terrestrial broadband (satelite service is wayyy to expensive). I am glad to have it but there is no competition here. Even if there was though I wouldnt switch because BellSouth wont let other companies sell its top speed of 6Mbps which I currently have. Best i could get is 3Mbps for the same price roughly that BellSouth sells its 6Mbps for….
