Hey Boeing why did you not invite some Aviation Geeks

I am jealous Chris Pirillo got to take a flight that tested Boeings inflight WiFi service and they said it worked great. The reason I am jealous is after spending 21 years in the new technologies field in aviation electronics I did not get a chance to take a look. I would have had to dig around and look at their installation and how the integrated it. That would have been big fun for me. I know that we have a few pilots that read this website and several that work for airlines. But I usually deal with the sub contractors and don’t have many contacts over their. But it is time to pull out the rolodex and see what engineer I can get on the phone.

Regardless I hope Chris had fun and I am glad the service worked good. I always like those Dog and Pony shows as they always have a bunch of nervous technicians standing around, and I like to kneed them a little to see how stressed that are. But when you really make them nervous is when you break out your gear for a factory acceptance test, and you have enough gear to stress test a new system to the point of bringing it to it’s knees, that is when I am in my professional element and love to see them sweat.

Nothing more dangerous than a pissed off customer during a factory acceptance test. [Chris Pirillo]
