His project is about done and I have other commitments, so today will be the last day of me handling the daily news. I will still be doing some Apple articles, so you’re not totally rid of me. :-)

HP Keeping it’s iPod Connection

According to iPod lounge, Hewlett-Packard is still interested in keeping it’s relationship with Apple and the iPod. I have always wondered why HP entered in this arrangement if they were not going to take advantage of it. Now HP will be releasing a new desktop with a built-in iPod dock. Maybe this will be the start some new projects from HP.

Privacy Registration Blocked For .US Domain Names

If you own a domain name, you know the benefits of registering it under a private proxy which keeps your name, address and contact information away from the prying eyes of spammers, stalkers or solicitors. The National Telecommunications and Information Administration, (NTIA), the telecommunications and Internet arm of the Department of Commerce, has disallowed private registrations for .US domain names. This was made without a hearing or an opportunity for a rebuttal or response from those affected. After giving only two weeks' notice, the NTIA has stated that they would not consider any arguments and that its decision is final. According to a website called The Danger of No Privacy, here is a list of the reasons you want an anonymous domain name registration.

Longhorn Could Be A Tough Sell

News.com has a huge article this morning about Microsoft’s Windows new operating system being released next year code-named Longhorn. The article makes several points, in a nutshell, here they are. It’s gotten to the point where XP has become the most stable of any Windows system to date. Several of the new features in Longhorn are supposedly being dropped to get the OS out the door next year. Plus several of Longhorn’s features were or will about to be implemented into Windows XP to handle security problems or feature requests.

What Dell Support Thinks of Dell

In an InfoWorld Gripe Line Blog, anonymous Dell employees are asked to make their feelings known about working for Dell. As we all know, Dell moved their tech support to India and they have employees in other parts of the world now too. It sounds like the new users dumb questions and working with Windows constant crashing and errors have driven even the Indian support workers to the brink of giving up. Here are a few quotes from the above story..
