Blog Torrent Releases version .9 for Mac and PC

If you have a blog or a website and would like to post large files for your readers and friends to download, you need to look at the new Blog Torrent. Blog Torrent uses a technology called BitTorrent as a fast, powerful, and spyware-free way to download large files online. Instead of downloading files from a central server, you download from other people who are also downloading the file. Now you can post those movies you’ve made, or those large multi-megabyte photos you’ve taken, or even programs you’ve developed and would like to allow your readers to download. Blog Torrent makes publishing with BitTorrent painless. Just click "upload", pick a file, and you're done.

They closed their doors, but another company has decided to try it again, this time using free wi-fi access. FreeFi Networks are looking for affiliates to expand their free wi-fi

Most geeks reading this will know that a file extension of .rar is a compressed file, similar to .zip formatted files, but according to an eWeek article, many PC users are falling for the hoax.

What started as a data theft report last week from ChoicePoint of 35,000 California residents, now turned into at least 145,000 thefts across the nation. According to a company spokesperson, the security breach occurred last fall, but law enforcement officials would not allow them to make public the incident until recently to keep the investigation from being compromised. The Top Gadgets of All Time

MobilePC has released a list of the Top 100 Gadgets of all time. This is a fantastic walk down memory lane for some of us older geeks. Remember that it’s gadgets, and that means you’ll see the Popeil Pocket Fisherman, The Bedazzler and the Tamagotchi. But it does have some great tech gadgets listed like the first notebook, the Radio Shack TRS-80, (which I have a working model), and it’s number one gadget of all time, the Apple Powerbook 100.
