Microsoft 1 – MyDoom.B 0

Seems that Microsoft has battled the MyDoom.B virus and survived. What strikes me as funny is that SCO who obviously is running UNIX boxes on their websites where unable to fend off the attack. Obviously their is a significant higher number of Unix Servers on the Net but it’s funny that Microsoft which obviously run Windows Servers where able to handle the attack just fine. [Wired]

Well, I read that Microsoft web pages run on private server networks of Akamai company. This distributed solution was the key, why Microsoft had little trouble with the attack. Akamain has over 15000 servers all over the world. Funny is, that most of them run on Linux.
