On October 15th Microsoft is changing the way users of Microsoft Messenger login. They are supposedly switching to a SSL login the forced upgrade to version 5 of Messenger spells bad news for the users of Trillian and other programs that interface with it. No longer will Trillian users be able to interface with Microsoft Messenger. Microsoft has said that from now on companies will have to License the interface. No doubt that will come with a enormous price tag. I guess that is one of the reasons I still primarily ICQ I have been putting of playing with Trillian for a long time maybe it is time to check it out and throw my support behind Trillian.
Another program called “GAIM” that I know nothing about has posted details about the new implementation.
