Several of you have sent me e-mail saying hey we came to your site and found a blank page. This has happened twice in the last week. Here is the message I sent to my hosting provider.
“The hard-drive is full on the server again”
I understand that many host will over-sell a server another words you offer x amount of storage and user only uses 10% of that space then you can sell the other 90% to other clients in the hope that the original user will not increase dramatically the storage he or she is using.
But when the hard-drive runs out of space and those of us that add to our sites numerous times a day, are then screwed when we cannot re-build. Please move some clients to other machines or add storage. This is the second time in one week I have seen this problem. If there is a specific abuser please rein in the user.
I have actually had to pull important files off my site just to get the site to re-publish. I would like a public announcement on what you all are doing to assure us we will not have this problem in the future.”
Someday we will go on a dedicated server but being I have 3 kids to feed and a 4th one on the way It will be on a hosted account until we can afford to move it to another server. I cannot complain to much though as they have very generous bandwidth allowances which we has turned out to be a blessing in disguise. If someone wants to offer us a new home or sponsor us onto a dedicated server drop us a note.
