In a move that has TiVo owners up in arms they are finding that TiVo has been meddling with there systems setups in recording Discovery commercials and turning there TV’s on in the morning. It does not surprise me, as Discovery is a major stockholder.
When will companies wake up and smell the roses. I would be pissed if I came downstairs to pour my morning cup of coffee to find the TV on Discovery. I generally hate TV in the morning but at least they could do is turn on Fox News. [Media Guardian]

My TiVo has been doing this for sometime. Most of the time it looks like it is downloading digital information over the television. It records the channel this is showing a lot of black and white dots that change quickly. This is probably how the extra content gets on the tivo, like movie trailers and the like. Sometimes it does record stuff for new albums. It has NEVER turned my tv on, because a tivo cant turn a TV on. and since the tivo is always on, it simply changes to discovery and records that digital stuff I was talking about.
