OnePlus has announced the OnePlus Pad 3 tablet will be launched in Europe on 5th June ’25 with a somewhat early arrival at 0730 BST. Details are a little thin on the ground but the Pad 3 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform which will certainly give it some power under the hood. As per usual, we can expect more information to be drip-fed via the company’s social media as it gets closer to the launch.
The OnePlus Pad 3 will come with Open Canvas, OnePlus’ multitasking extension to Android that maximises the use of the larger screen: up to three apps can be displayed at a time. It’s been well received on other OnePlus devices, such as the Open and there are some recent improvements which will be seen for the first time on the new device. I’m expecting this to be a productivity powerhouse when these enhancements are joined to the Snapdragon 8 Elite.
The tablet looks good though the design has moved away from the quirky circular central camera on the rear to a more normal upper right layout. “Storm Blue” is the colour for Europe and it’s described as “a dusty royal blue”. Accessories haven’t been announced but the pictures on the website show a keyboard with touchpad along with a stylus.
Although this a 3rd generation tablet, this is the fourth tablet from OnePlus, with the Pad Go upping the numbers. It’s good to see tablets continuing to grow in Android-land as there had been limited choice a few years ago. Of course, the Pad 3 is optimised to work in conjunction with OnePlus phones though some new apps will be available to improve interoperability with Apple Macs.
Right now, there’s nothing on price. The Pad 2 came in at UK£499 so I imagine with some inflation it might come in under £600. If it does, that’s a lot of tablet for the money.
There are some pre-launch offers over at OnePlus, including reserving a device for £1 which also nets you a £50 discount and an 80W fast charger worth a penny under £50. You can check them out at the launch page for the OnePlus Pad 3.
