Bluetooth Cassette? What will they think of next?

ion_logo ion has come out with something that, at first, made no sense to me. A Cassette Bluetooth adaptor. But, then, I remembered that I still have a car in my fleet that has a cassette stereo in it and thought to myself. “Hmmm… that does make sense!”.

The Cassette Bluetooth adaptor transforms you car’s cassette deck into a bluetooth music reciever that streams music (and podcasts) wirelessly from any smartphone or music player that has bluetooth connectivity. The unit turns off and on automatically when put in or ejected from your deck and has a rechargeable battery that will last up to 6 hours. You can even use it to make hands-free phone calls.

From the looks of it, you can charge it with the included USB cable while it’s in use. (Depending on your cassette player).

A very handy device for someone who likes to avoid car payments and still keeps their old tape deck equipped cars. I couldn’t find any pricing information or when it will be released.
