Consumer Electronics Association Kills Tech Enthusiast Program

I received this email this morning from CEA.

“Thank you for your participation in CEA’s Tech Enthusiast membership. You were truly early adopters in a program designed to reward fans of consumer technology. We are sorry to report that the Tech Enthusiast program has not driven the membership numbers we would have liked to see. CEA’s Board of Directors has decided to discontinue this program as a paid membership effective immediately.”

The Tech Enthusiast program was introduced last year as a way for people like me that where consumer electronics fans to stay abreast of CE trends without having to be a full fledged CEA member. Sad to see this has not worked out for the CEA.
