AOC, known for their LCD displays, has debuted an Android-based tablet that will come in at under $200. The price, of course, brings with some sacrifices which you may or may not be willing to make.
On the plus side it comes with an 8″ screen, it weighs in at a mere 1.1 pounds, 4 GB of built-in storage, a microSD card reader, a headphone jack, a USB port, and a price tag that will be under $200. Then comes the downside. The resolution is 800×600, it runs Android 2.1 Eclair, and it’s WiFi only.
For the price it’s a good deal and it has some nice features and a screen that is larger that Galaxy Tab. WiFi only shouldn’t be much of a problem since free WiFi is widely available and 3G plans are not cheap and most come with a 2 year commitment. It is hitting the market out as a budget tablet so you can’t expect top-of-the-line. If it’s solid and runs well then it is a worthwhile release.
