White Label Mac is real

The folks at Psystar have delivered demo units to both Engadget and CNET. The machines are real, and while they have a few issues the most important thing is that their are now White Label Macs available. The Genie is now out of the bottle.

What this should do is encourage hackers to start creating drivers for a variety of devices for OS X. What I expect to happen next is that Apple will patch Leopard in a way that it will close the door on people from doing this. Not to mention the lawyers working overtime to stop the folks at Psystar from selling these units.

While I am not sure how many people will purchase these white label macs, it sure is surprising that it has taken so long for it to happen. [CNET]
