After finding out last night that Road Runner here in Hawaii was offering Turbo RR I did some testing. This was measuring multiple downloads from various servers. I did a variety of Bandwidth test and recorded all of the information.
I then called ordered $9.95 more per month for the supposed upgraded service and reset my cable modem (left it off for 30 minutes) I then turned it on let it initialize and run the same exact test again.
Well 24 hours later I have complete and utter disappointment in this supposed faster service. The benchmarks that I measured before the upgrade came out exactly the same. I was really mystified thinking it may take longer to get the new speed I waited 24 hours.
Well it’s 24 hours later I just reset my cable modem again and re-run the same test. It seems Oceanic Cable and Road Runner are selling snake oil. At this point here in Hawaii I cannot recommend that people upgrade to Hawaii Turbo RR
Well that’s a shame. But at least you are being proactive and informing people. Who knows what that could lead to?
