GotvMail Considers Hawaii a International Call?

I recently setup a Virtual PBX to handle the growing number of calls we are getting at RawVoice and during the setup we could not determine why calls were not being routed to my phone they always went to voice mail.

Turns out that this company charges what it terms International rates for forwarded calls to Hawaii. Another words they are scamming clients in a big way. What is so ridiculous about this is that Hawaii is not a International call for anyone else. It cost you the same amount per minute to call Hawaii as it does to call any other state.

Adding more to the ridiculous factor is that I have a second cell phone that has a California number and I can use that phone here in Hawaii and the service will forward to it without incurring a International phone surcharge.

While I like the GotvMail service this is the biggest scam I have run into in a while. On a side note did you know that anyone in the United States can call Guam for the same price as a state to state call. So even the phone company does not consider Guam a International phone call and Guam is a 7 hour plane ride from Hawaii. GotvMail.com

Hawaii and Alaska have different rates sometimes depending on the exact location. As I work in the industry, I am aware. However, there are many services which treat them as a local call.

However, I think you should simply look for someone else :) There are many these days. Ringcentral, 800PBX, VirtualPBX (founder in the space but expensive).
