I like what Robin Good has to say and I am a big fan of his website. I post at least once a week back at him and today is no exception. He has come out with his 2006 New Media predictions, Robin hits the nail on the head.
“Podcasting will keep growing at a fast rate and it will provide lots of interesting and valuable content to all those connected. A killer tool will become available that will allow podcasts to be easily annotated, referenced and automatically transcribed into text at the click of a button. Also the number of search engines and tools enabling search within the audio portion of any podcast will see major growth.”
Robin I think that the meta data in Podcast is valuable but I also think the power of people being able to filter through easily the type of content they want is also key. I will have a lot more to say about that subject in the New Year. But suffice to say the current podcast directories with the soul exception of Yahoo are in sad state of affairs.
The company that makes it easy for the average listener to find and listen to podcast will have a huge advantage with at least 55% of the market still tuning into podcast via direct clicks on websites. [Robin Good]
