Chris Pirillo calls Google to task

I take 36 hours off and come back to Skype messages e-mails and all kinds of havoc in response to a post that Chris Pirillo has put on his weblog. He talks about spamblogs, trackbacks and completely bogus entries on blogs over at Blogspot. I have talked about the massive amounts of comment and trackback spam I get here not to mention the high number of sites that just hijack our info.

Blogspots is a haven for bots that setup weblogs by the thousands and do nothing but steal content, target trackbacks and comments to try and drive people to websites so they can build page rank, or get a click through on an advertisement or worse deliver malware. I still track how many times a day here we get hit bogus comment or trackback spam, for the past 9 months my server has gotten hit nearly every second of every day. The amount of server load and traffic is enormous and 90% of that crap is coming from those on BlogSpot..

I realize their are a lot of great sites on BlogSpot but for the most part they are surrounded by the scum of the earth. [Chris Pirillo]
