According to Bloomberg.com, Apple, maker of the Macintosh PC, kept customer satisfaction at the highest level since 1994, the first year of the survey. Its Mac shipments are at a five-year high. Dell’s customer satisfaction is at the lowest since 1998, based on the index. According to a Bloomberg spokesmen, “The satisfaction of customers is pretty much a leading indicator as to whether customers will come back and buy more,” Fornell said. “Apple looks good. Dell is facing challenges. If I were a Dell shareholder, I’d look at the results.”
Dell is no different then most PC makers, they spend most of their support time online trying to clean up customer’s machines filled with spyware, adware, virues and trojans. It a no win battle. Although it’s really not the fault of the PC maker, since Microsoft will not help any of their customers that have their systems slowed down to a crawl, or in most cases, shut down totally. The only thing PC makers can do is give buyers a choice of a safer and more user friendly OS. Let’s hope Apple opens their OSX to PC’s and maybe we can get on with the business of computing rather then the business of cleaning up after Microsoft’s mess.
