I really have to feel bad for the crew over at Corante they had such a great idea for a fun event, but I think a lot of people including myself were dealing with an economic decision, mine was a little more than economics it was also vacation time, and other commitments.
Putting on an event that competed with Podcast Expo resulted in just too many shows. In addition their is another event on the east coast that some are planning on attending.
Most podcasters are like me, married, have full time regular jobs, and we have budgets. It would recommended for Corante to do plan for a schedule that minimizes the impact on podcasters with day jobs. Make Thursday a travel day with a social event on Thursday evening followed by 2 full days of sessions Friday, and Saturday then everyone can travel Sunday, and be back at work on Monday. If you really want to help people out financially have it in a smaller city where the prices are cheaper, and people can stay in a hotel and keep their 3 day stay plus airfare at a reasonable cost.
