I understand the need for some of the professional high volume multi author weblogs need to generate cash. After all you cannot expect editors to work for free. It is one of the problems I have had here. we have a small pool of editors that contribute from time to time, as we are a non commercial site thus they don’t get paid. They are very highly appreciated volunteers though. From my side of the fence the volume of this site has reached a point where we are considering adding some sort of revenue generator just to help pay for bandwidth cost.
I wish Engadget luck when they start putting ads in their rss feeds and will click through if the product is something I am interested in. I wonder if somebody smart can come up with a plugin for Movable Type that will allow us to insert a advertisement into our RSS feed and keep it off the main site!
