Everyone has heard of a Freedom of Information Act which allows citizens to file request on Information that may be restricted or not released for public disclosure. Imagine filing a request for the blueprints to a nuclear weapon. Do you think you would stand a chance of getting a visit by the FBI or Secret Service. The FOIA has it limits on what can be requested so if your digging for information you need to be careful what you ask for and give a valid reason why you need that information.
