I have always built my own computers and up to a year ago had gave my kids the hand me down computer. Well with them getting a little older they need a machine that has more horses under the hood. Well after reading a story today about the woes a Gateway customer has had over the past 4 years I am less inclined to buy a box from a manufacture and yet again build a system from scratch.
Definitely for a kids computer more hassle than I want but you can bet I will not have any warranty problems. [ZDNet]
No no no NO they can’t be trusted.
Also, Gateway’s right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing.
I won’t detail my experience with them here (don’t have time right now), but it was quite hellish.
I WILL leave you with a quote and blatant lie from one of their reps: “Nobody, not even the president of Gateway can authorize your return.”
