Nick Denton is acting like he was stabbed in the back. I feel no sorrow for him business is business! Obviously his media group is investing a lot of money and banking on the fact that they hope or are going to make money thru there wide assortment of blogs. Employee’s leave for greener pastures all the time it’s life at least he has resigned himself to that fact. But you don’t air your dirty laundry for the whole community to see. You suck it up and move on. I may be reading him wrong but it sure does sound like he is whining.
I looked at the link they put in for their Gizmodo hit counter the other day and was not specifically impressed. What’s the deal are they trying to impress people on how their hit counts went through the roof for a few days? I personally continue to be happy that Geek News Central is growing by about 10% a month and have so since the first month. Is that sustainable I am not sure but we are already close to our 100 gig a month bandwidth allotment. I have to start thinking about adding bandwidth.
At least Nick is a realest when he stated: “There’s an important consolation. Competition between pro blogs may destroy their potential for profit, but the struggle will be excellent for readers.”
