Just some free advise. Several weeks ago I was parallel parked and had been boxed in with very little room forward and back. I was about as careful as one can get in getting out of the spot, but while backing up I touched the car behind me. The speed must have been about 1 inch per second but anyway after I got out of the spot I got out and double checked the car that I had touched to insure no damage.
Well to make a long story short no scratch no dent not anything yet 1 hour later I am talking to a police officer for “fleeing the scene of a accident” as ridiculous as it sounds someone totally obsessed with there 4 year old car had a fit and called the cops on me. So anyway I sign the ticket get warned I could go to jail etc. Two weeks pass and guess what charge got thrown out at traffic court.
To top it off the guys car that I touched said he would settle for a thousand dollars without taking it to the insurance company. I laughed and said go ahead submit it to your insurance company. My insurance company has been informed and told what to expect we will see what happens I am sure I will get sued next for causing a emotional scar or something. Sometime people just need to get a life and quit parking so close to other people.
But the moral of the story is this. I will never ever drive away from any vehicle no mater how insignificant the tap is because there are just to many jerks in this world.
