Nokia, the world’s top cell phone maker, on Tuesday launched its much-hyped N-Gage game phone, taking on Japan’s Nintendo in a bid to break into the red-hot gaming market and offset its slowing growth in global handset sales.
Nokia unveiled the phones, along with games from some of the world’s top software publishers, first in Asia in a worldwide marketing blitz that marked one of the Finnish company’s largest product launches and one of its biggest gambles.
