Tired of using a paper phone book or calling 411

Most geeks already use the Internet to find telephone numbers but I still find myself using a phone book from time to time. Well after today I think those days are gone. Nice write up on a Telephone Number aggreator. [www.jdlasica.com] [www.argali.com]

I am the author of Argali White & Yellow. I completely understand your concerns and feel about scumware exactly the same way you do.

As the author of Argali, I want to assure you that the only code Argali has is to search telephone (and related) directories on the Internet. The advertisement displayed by Argali is done exactly the same way as on the regular web sites, like Yahoo, CNN, MSN, Cnet, etc. — the ads are being pulled and displayed through the standard HTML means: href, script and iframe. Argali has no other functionality built in whatsoever. There is no spyware, viruses, Trojan horses or any other scumware with Argali. All code was written by me.

In addition to general public, there are many organizations with quite high security requirements among Argali users, e.g. many federal, state and local government offices, financial firms, law enforcement organizations, insurance companies, hospitals and others.

I also would like you to know, that in addition to the free advertisement supported version of Argali, we now have a version of Argali without advertisements. Because it doesn’t need to pull and display ads, this version works faster and has a smaller footprint. It is available for the modest subscription fee of $19.95 for personal use or $29.95 for businesses, per year. It will be officially announced in a few weeks when we finish the automated online payment and registration processing, but you can have it right now if you pay by check.

I’ll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
