I have been busy this weekend making some changes to the back-end of this site. This is part of the first phase of the expansion here. I have installed a module that is bringing some immediate features to the site!
1. A list of News Source that we use to build this site with currently only 40 or so syndicated feeds listed. The plan is to have the number grow to about 500 we update the news sources on variable schedules. So if you want to read the news we do check it out.
2. New Forums that we hope will be a more versatile
3. Users can also now create Mini Blogs
We are using a cool tool called Drupal to implement these features and we will see how it stands up under the strain. The Forum link above has been updated with the new link. Be sure to give us some feedback on what we have created. Our goal is give you a glimpse behind the scenes of what we do to bring the news to you.
It would be good to see a bit of a sence of community in forums. It always supprised me how little content and action there was in there with the ammount of people that go through the site.
Also supprised me how little people replied and commented on stories unlike some other sites.
I have to say i like the sound of things to come though.
