This week marks another edition of the new “Bryan’s Pick” Bryan’s Pick is a usefull and time saving program that I recommend for anyone all ages that makes things in life a little easier.
Blogging has never, ever been so popular. It seems that everyone is creating and developing a blog and blogging software. My pick for the week is an application that targets to be an interface between the user and his blog(s), in other words, is a Post and Template editor, with serveral features and resources that the browser based blog editors can not offer. w.bloggar
Now, more than ever, RSS is becoming so pouplar in blogs & news sites. FeedDemon makes it easy to gather and veiw the top headlines and new postings from your favorite sites.
PROS: I really like w.bloggar becuase it is very easy to set-up an account and get started, upload images right within the program, easily add links, tables, images, and other cool stuff. Recently they’ve added a feature in v3.01 that uses Windows Media Player 9 to post what song/radio station you are listening too, which is also very cool. Also some other quick time savers is that it pings weblogs.com, lets you create a custom tags menu, and quick & easily edit prevous posts, without ever having to enter your mt.cgi. I’m actually using w.bloggar right now!
CONS: Yes, there are some cons for you Movable Type users (which I really miss). To the w.bloggar staff, if you are listening, I would just love to be able to edit categories and use the ‘Trackback’ feature. Other than that, the program rocks! I would fully recommend it to anyone with a blog.
w.bloggar is a free download at 1.7MB currently in version 3.02. Check it out. That’s Bryan’s Pick for the week of July 6th. Check back next week for another software review! Bryan Roy, Geek News Central
Hi Brian,
Thank’s for the review! And don’t worry I’ll implement all MT features available thru their API on the next w.bloggar major version (4.0).

Marcelo
