I had to laugh today when I read the report about United to offer e-mail on flights. It wasn’t that the service made me laugh it was the cost. I travel a great deal and usually hit some of the same airports 2-3 times a month. Of those 4-5 offer WiFi in the terminal area at around $6.00 a hour which is affordable when you are in between flights and need to get some work done. Along with my PDA and my cell phone I can really get some work done between flights. But with United charging $16.00 to get connected and bandwidth charges only the Rich and Famous will be able to afford the service. [The Seattle Times]
