Is the New York Time Guessing

I read several stories last night that made me think that the latest flap over “pulled software release of Waste” by Nullsofts parent company AOL, would cause Nullsoft’s lead programmer Justin Frankel to quit. Nothing in his weblog post lead me to believe he had only that he might. Yet today the New York Times is saying he is to resign. Unless they have and insider who knows this for sure I think they are guessing by reading his weblog. A very risky gamble in my opinion. What if the guy was venting and this causes him to be fired by parent company AOL.

No one else is saying he has resigned so it makes me wonder if the New York Times is now in the business of predicting news.
